"ROOM WITH A VIEW"
EXT. STONE MANSION NIGHT
Large oval window set in stone wall. All black except orange glow from window. Silhouette of robed individual in window looking out.
VO: Lisa, what is out there? What do you see? What is it ? Lisa, tell me!
Figure in window turns and walks away.
FADE TO BLACK
VO: Out there, its different every time you know. This morning it was a large tree with its bare black branches spreading out, covering the entire sky. The air all around was a thick, deep yellow. Its not like that now, is it Lisa? No, it wouldnt be.
VO (Continues): It starts empty each time. I look out the window, and slowly individual pieces start to form. Each piece is unique on its own, but as more and more pieces form, they begin to work together as something larger. Every blade of grass, every flower at the end of its stem seems to be exactly where it belongs, as if it were specially placed there to work with everything around it. As I gaze out further and further into this new, developing world, the more I notice, and the more complete and solid the world becomes.
Hands begin to put together puzzle on black surface during VO. Puzzle is picture of following scene
SEAMLESS DISSOLVE TO:
INT. DRAWING ROOM WITH FIRE
Large, fancy, upper-class drawing room. Center is fireplace illuminating room. Large high-backed armchair is facing fire, back to camera. Arms and back of head of old man is sitting in chair apparently talking to someone (source of VO).
VO (Continuous): I want to look around the bends, past the hedges, and over the horizon. The part of the world I can see with my eyes seems so interfused and organized that it seems it goes on that way forever. The sunshine feels warm, and the wind blows my hair. But how do I know if there is anything at all past what I can see from my inhibiting windows? Sometimes Lisa, it feels that if I look out further into this world, I am really just looking deeper into myself.
VO: Lisa! Are you paying attention?
SLOW ZOOM INTO DOLLS FACE
VO: Lisa, this room is the only thing that stays constant. Out there changes every time I look. It cant be real, it starts out as nothing, and it builds up only when I am looking. If whats out there doesnt really exist, then what I see must just be a part of me. It may just be a projection of my memories, or my thoughts, my wishes. The more I think I am seeing the world, the more I am just creating a complex illusion from within me. Its not real Lisa, it cant be. Lisa, dont you see the relevance. You yourself even might be nothing more than a trick of my mind. You seem to be a real person Lisa, just as live as me, but as out there, you could really be nothing at all.
VO: Lisa, let me tell you a story. A story about the real world, and a created world, and which one was better. It is a tale of long ago in a less civilized time.
SPFX (CG) INSIDE OF TUMBLERS AND LOCK MECHANISM OPENING
VO: There existed in the center of a small town a fortified iron bridge known as the Bridge of Sighs. It was called so because it led out from a dungeon, straight into the executioners chambers.
INT. DARK BRIDGE DAY
Completely dark room with very narrow window at the top of far wall. Blinding light comes in from window. Blue sky shows out window.
Prisoner gets pushed in, highlighted by window.
GUARD: Come on, get in there!
VO: This bridge had a small window at the top, the only source of light. But it served as much more than simply illumination, for this window was the prisoners first glimpse at the outside world since entering the dungeon. However it was also to be their last. They had one final moment to remember the outside world, their hopes and dreams, and everything that they would never see again.
Prisoner looks up towards window.
ZOOM IN TO EYES - Eyes blink.

INT. BRIDGE DAY
GUARD: Get on, keep moving!
Guard pushes prisoner away.
SKY WITH CLOUDS
VO: The window didnt reveal much, but it was enough for the prisoner to create an entire world to surround him. An entire world in the blink of an eye.
VO (continues): Just like me, the reality for the prisoner was the bridge and the small window to look out from. And, just like me, the entire world outside was spawned from within his mind, created by his filtered memories, and unconscious thoughts.
EXT. STONE MANSION NIGHT
Same window with silhouette looking out.
Double exposure of extreme CU of eyes lining up with widow.
VO: That world never truly existed, but I wonder, if some day one of the worlds I see out my window will be what he saw. I dont know though, if it is possible for two people to create the exact same world. I wonder, I wonder if someone, somewhere has created a world exactly like this one, my world!
Eyes close as person in window walks away. CAMERA noise.
VO (with urgency): Lisa, what was out there?!
